Announcing Active911 for Windows Desktop and Tablet!

Today I have the pleasure of announcing the public release of our Active911 app for both Windows Desktop computers and Windows Tablets! These are two separate apps that are now available to you. The desktop version can be installed on Windows XP, 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 while the Tablet version can be installed on Windows 8.1 and 10. The biggest difference to consider when choosing for your platform is that the desktop version is optimized for a mouse and keyboard while the tablet version is optimized for touch input.

You can download either one from the links listed above. Once you have entered a device code you will start receiving alerts and can use all of the features within the apps.

  1. Could you consider allowing the option to choose what type of map you’d prefer to use on the Windows PC application? (Google, Apple, Bing, etc).

  2. I have and use the iPhone app regularly (Thank you!)and would like, just for the sake of convenience, to also have the app on my pc. However, as stated, its just a convenience thing, and am don’t want to burden my fire company with the additional charge. Is this a possibility?

    • John, you will still need to have the admin of your department’s account add a PC device for you. When they add that device, they can set the subscription to “require personal subscription.” Then you can login to the website and pay for that subscription for you PC.
